APRIL 2021 KEATON'S KIDS UPDATE

Here’s the great news. Because of you good people, we are already taking off as Keaton’s Kids. Woohoo! What started out as just a thought, a dream, has become a reality. Thanks to amazing contributors and helpers along the way, we are making transformative outdoor adventures more accessible to kids who might not have the opportunity any other way.

If you’d like to learn more about the how and the why of the organization, please watch the short video below. (And even if you do know, you may want to watch just to see Keaton’s short cameo at the end. Man, that kid had charisma.)

Our first project is currently underway! We were so inspired by the energy and excitement of CatRock Ventures, especially the way they pivoted during the pandemic and didn’t give up on their kids during this hard time. Can’t go on their usual trips and adventures? Get the kids out on bikes. We joined them on several bike rides, and loved it. When they presented a program for Bikes in the Bronx with overnight trips, training in bike maintenance, and on-going mentorship, all culminating in a five night biking/camping trip, we jumped at the chance to partner with them. With your amazing help, Keaton’s Kids is sponsoring the whole project, covering everything from bikes and helmets, to transportation vans, overnights, and more! You’ll no doubt get updates and news along the way as we move forward. Soooo excited!!!

So far, we have raised $37,000 of our $50,000 “fun”raising goal for 2021. Not bad for a new organization! But we have big plans and we can’t stop now. We plan to partner with several more organizations this year, including Hoods to Woods (Keaton would have loved that name!) based in Brooklyn, and Shred Foundation, based in Newburgh. Both organizations change lives by getting underserved or project kids out snowboarding.

If you’re reading this, you probably know Cat, or knew Keaton, or Joel, or know Kevin. You want to see Keaton’s name and legacy live on in some tangible way. We do too. Know that it is happening with Keaton’s Kids. Know that whatever you may have donated or will donate will be used 100% towards programs for kids. As we read about YMCA camps in New York closing, and violence escalating in cities, now more than ever we have the opportunity to make real change.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for helping to make Keaton’s Kids a reality. We couldn’t have done it without you!
